3 Local Beachbody Coaches You Need to be Following!

For as long as I can remember, fitness has been a huge part of my life. So large that I consider it a need to propel me onwards and upwards. I personally use fitness and team sports as a way to de stress, meet new people, try something new, feel healthy and appreciate my body for all it has the power to accomplish.

I find myself following every type of fitness account from inspirational quotes, to professional athletes to fitness models and yes, Beachbody coaches! What I think is so wonderful about following a diverse set of accounts and business styles is that each connects with me in a different way on any given day. If you’re like me, I thoroughly enjoy seeing progress, success stories and people who are genuinely working towards their goals and sharing their story. How could you not love this!

So, along my fitness journey I’ve found people who make me stop scrolling mindlessly and actually read their posts, "like" their photos and leave me cheering them on from watching their IG story powering through their last set. Below are three local women, mothers, friends, daughters, wives and badass Beachbody coaches that are sure to inspire you.
They are friendly enough to answer your questions and would be honoured to be a part of your fitness journey. I’ve interviewed each of them and published their answers below for you in a raw and real way. If nothing else, follow, like and cheer them on. You’ll be glad you did!

What motivated you to begin your journey as a Beachbody Coach?

It was after experiencing my own personal transformation using Beachbody programs and products that I was motivated to begin my journey as a Beachbody Coach. I wanted to help other women, especially mom's like myself, get healthier and more fit from the comfort of their home. I have always had a passion for health and fitness and this was a great opportunity to pursue it and make an impact in the lives of others.

Did you have an “ah-ha” moment or “turning point” during your journey that made you want to continue, grow and share your business with others?

During my journey as a Beachbody coach I have definitely experienced many 'turning points'. From the beginning, I found myself trying to fit into a certain mould of what I thought I needed to fit in order to be successful like other coaches in the network. I was trying to be someone I wasn't and thanks to a good friend who pointed that out to me I had my biggest 'ah-ha' moment. From that point forward I took ownership of my own business and my own identity within Beachbody and I began to pave my own path. My goal has always stayed the same, but my business has definitely evolved over the past few years as my vision for my business became more clear to me.

Who is your biggest supporter?

My biggest supporter is my husband. From the very thought of becoming a coach, he offered me nothing but encouragement and support. In fact, he had more belief in me than I did. Through every high and low over the past few years he has been right there with me. I wouldn't be where I am without him.

Where do you get your motivation?

My motivation comes from wanting to make an impact and difference in other people's lives. Their desire for better health and happiness becomes my desire for them. My motivation comes from celebrating the big and small wins with my clients when they start seeing change and transforming from the inside out. It comes from the growth of confidence in those clients that come to me with none. I am constantly inspired by the people I coach. Seeing breakthroughs and transformations happen is a huge motivator.

What holds you back (or used to) and do you think there are others that have the same fears?

When I first became a coach it was the lack of self confidence I had that held me back. I started with a burning desire to help people get healthier, but I had no expertise in the field of health and fitness or in business. I felt inexperienced and I feared letting my clients down. Gaining the trust of others is one of the most important, yet can be one of the greatest challenges in this job. For me, it was letting go of my own insecurities first before I was able to open up to help others. Being vulnerable is hard, but it is what builds trust and, in turn, success and confidence. I do believe that every coach has had or still has insecurities that perhaps they have struggled with or currently struggle with.

If you could put a label on your coaching style, what would it be?

Personable. I love the one-on-one relationships I build with my clients. Many of them have become my dear friends. For me it's not quantity, it's quality that matters most. I plug my clients into my online community for accountability and support, but my focus is mainly on meeting my clients where they are at and mapping out a plan with them according to their own personal goals. Beachbody has a plethora of programs for people of all walks of life. I make recommendations based on my clients individual needs and abilities and then go forward at the pace they are comfortable going.

There are many Beachbody Coaches out there, what makes you unique?

I am a health and fitness business owner who uses Beachbody programs and products to help people reach their health and fitness goals. Instead of building and leading a team of coaches in my network, my focus and my passion in my business is based heavily on helping my clients reach their goals. I love what I do. I wake up excited to check in with my clients and I feel honoured to be on their journey with them. I take a client's needs, goals, fears, struggles, strengths, etc., all into consideration from the start to have a clear vision on how to help them move forward toward success. I help my clients meal plan, teach them how to meal prep and set them up for long-term success. I work with a variety of different clients from people who have no fitness background to recreational athletes who want to improve their performance and tighten up their nutrition.

What motivated you to begin your journey as a Beachbody Coach?

In my early twenties I did not treat my body with the respect it deserved, I abused it with drugs, alcohol and harmful food. I knew I needed to create a change within myself, to start on the new project that truly required it inside and out - ME!I named my brand Project Vessel to remind myself that my body should be constantly worked on, like a project as it is the vessel that will take me through this life and the life of my children. I knew I wanted to create life, to create a family but knew that the direction of self destruction I was heading was only a matter of time that my skin inflammation called psoriasis would spread not only throughout my body but could pass on to my soon to be child. I knew I had to make this change in my lifestyle and beachbody gifted me the perfect platform to do so.

Did you have an “ah-ha” moment or “turning point” during your journey that made you want to continue, grow and share your business with others?

As the continuation of my journey and the success I was gaining I knew I had to share this gift with others, it was not only changing the exterior of my appearance but I was evolving internally mentally, emotionally and spiritually.I decided to extend the evolution I was gaining and help people around me while I was also working on myself. To encourage and empower my challengers as they saw me push through my failures and ensure they were succeeding with their journey too.I needed the accountability as much as they did!

Who is your biggest supporter?

My husband Patrick! He continues to love and support me through all the changes and new adventures I have gained through our relationship and our marriage. I am not the same woman he married all those years ago. From an alcoholic, drug addict, snowboarder, archery, jewellery maker, psychic, hoola hooper, fitness extremist, makeup blogger, coach and now mother! Through all of my different phases of life he has grown with me and continued to support and motivate me to become the best version of me I can be.

Where do you get your motivation?

I definitely gain a lot of motivation from all of my team members, when I became a coach I gained an entirely new family who became very close friends. They help me up when I fall, they cheer me on when I’m succeeding! My coach Sarah Steeves has always been there for me every step of the way and has never given up on me or my future.
What holds you back (or used to) and do you think there are others that have the same fears? Honestly, reaching my success or failing my goals. I get caught up in the how rather than the why. It’s a new challenge that every day I work on. I think that others definitely have the same fears. I think that sometimes we would rather suffer than give ourselves the satisfaction of reaching our goals.

If you could put a label on your coaching style, what would it be?

I like to consistently change up my coaching style as I change. It never stays the same.

There are many Beachbody Coaches out there, what makes you unique?

I like to offer my challengers and coaches an oracle card reading and ask them specific questions that will allow us to dive a little deeper into  the reasons why they have created bad habits, how they are going to heal and how it will affect them for there future.

What motivated you to begin your journey as a Beachbody Coach?

I had just had a baby 6 months prior and was feeling down on myself and my body, which wasn’t fair (ie: just had a baby). But still I had been involved with fitness for most of my life and I wanted to get back to it to become strong again. Well, I tried the gym for the first few months and with a 6-month-old, and a husband that works out of town I just couldn’t get there (shocking). That’s when I had one of the girls that I went to university approach me about joining, I said no for a few months until I had the thought “what do I have to lose?” I started with her and started getting results and slowly people were interested in what I was doing. This is when I thought “I could maybe help a few people do what I’m doing too!”.

Did you have an “ah-ha” moment or “turning point” during your journey that made you want to continue, grow and share your business with others?

Yes. When my husband joined me and started getting INSANE results, I honestly thought, “WOW, okay this is happening”. His and my results help me feel 100% confident that this was a company that I wanted to be apart of and share. We are currently in the best shape of our lives!

Who is your biggest supporter?

Today, I would have to say my husband! He works so hard for us and has allowed me to stay at home most of the time to take care of our son Gunner and work this side- business. He believes in me more than I do myself at times.
Where do you get your motivation? No natural motivation here. I need to watch motivational videos, read quotes, talk to people, have my support group to keep it going! The supportive community is like 95% a guarantee that I will be sticking to it! The other 5% is discipline, knowing you are going to do something (discipline), but not want to (motivation).

What holds you back and do you think there are others that have the same fears?

Honestly, we all have peaks and valleys. When I’m peaking it’s like nothing can bring me down! Motivation comes out of my pores like my sweat from my workouts. But those valleys are hard. It’s a mental game. I don’t waver on my workouts anymore (practice, practice), but when to comes to talking to new people I put that on the back burner at times. And of course, I think people will fear that part, “what happens when I’m not motivated anymore”, that’s true with fitness, eating healthy, relationships and your business. Best thing for me is to remind myself how far I’ve come. Worst-case scenario I continue to get fit and have an exceptional family life. I work on my valleys, so they don’t hold me back as much. Consistency will get you there.

If you could put a label on your coaching style, what would it be?

Badass Brunette majoring in self-love and minoring in relationship with food.I believe that confidence is the hottest thing out there! It lights up a room and there is something about feeling such strong love for yourself that makes my heart so damn happy! And food is HARD. So, I am constantly aiming and working with people like me that have a tough relationship with it!

There are many Beachbody Coaches out there, what makes you unique?

We all have our “niche”, or “uniqueness” to our approach. For me, I feel as if I can help you with confidence and self-love through fitness, other doors and avenues will be there in your life! Those doors are what makes it LIFE CHANGING, and I think that I’m the best person for that job. A girl who was sad, bullied and lonely turns into a positive, self-proclaimed BADASS. The moment I realized that I can love me better than anyone, was the moment other opinions didn’t matter. Me versus me, for me, because of me. And that’s when it changed.
